The Star-Spangled Banner (Erik Leidzén)
Much interest had been evidenced by brass bands in the publication of Erik Leidzén’s festival arrangement of our national anthem. This had been featured by the New York Staff Band as its program opener for many years and had been used by the Tranas, Sweden and International Staff Bands on their American tours many years ago. This dramatic and artistic setting of The Star-Spangled Banner as played by these groups had been most impressive and had won high praise from coast to coast. The original fanfare is ideal for a program opener preceding the National Anthem. Used by itself, it may be employed in various ceremonial occasions or special dramatic demonstrations.
