On Wednesday, February 5th, Thomas Scheibner, Assistant Territorial Music Secretary, was Promoted to Glory suddenly. Tom, for more than 40 years and currently as the Assistant Territorial Music Secretary, has been the backbone of the USA East Music Department. You could ask him a question about SA music, what band played what piece in what venue from dozens of years ago or do you remember when and he had an answer… and it always was the correct answer! After coming to the Army as a young teenager through Star Lake Musicamp, he never looked back and steadily became a brilliant trombonist, percussionist, composer, Bandmaster and Songster Leader. Tom would go on to be a part of Star Lake Musicamp for 51 consecutive years!! He is known around the Salvation Army world, not only for his music knowledge and skills, but most importantly because he was a man of God who knew His Savior personally. He was a man who showed kindness and sincere concern for his friends and a man who loved his family above and beyond anything else. We will miss Tom, the Salvation Army world will miss Tom, but can be assured today that Tom is now where he believed he would always be someday, in Christ’s presence. Please join us in prayer as we uplift Charlene and the whole family in these difficult days.
